Why Canadian Wool

At Dog Person Knitwear, we want our sweaters to become your favourites and last for years.

That's why we work with 100% Canadian wool. It's naturally warm, breathable and durable, and a well-made wool garment can become something you reach for year after year.

We also wanted to bring the quality and longevity of good knitwear to dog apparel. These pieces are made. to be worn and loved, not treated as disposable.

The wool we use is sourced and processed entirely in Canada. That means supporting Canadian wool producers and the people and businesses involved in turning that raw fibre into yarn.

100% Canadian wool

“100% Canadian wool” means exactly that: the wool itself is grown in Canada. Wool is a natural fibre that is renewable and naturally biodegradable.

Our yarn supplier is Waxwing Yarn, a Canadian yarn company whose wool is Canadian-grown and processed entirely in Canada. Waxwing works with Canadian wool sources, scouring facilities and mills in Ontario and Quebec, with a focus on traceability and responsible sourcing.
